SOPHOMORE CLASSES: Global Test.

Oral Presentation


}Topic: Types of Films.

a)Adventure and action.

b)Comedy.

c)Romance.

d)Drama.

e)Science Fiction.

f)Horror

g)Historical

h)Fantasy adventure.

}Date: Starting on November 26th on.

}Groups: Students will work in pairs.

}Length of the presentation: 5 minutes minimum.

}Powerpoint: Presented on a CD by November 22nd  Only images allowed.

}All students must speak the same amount of time. READING IS NOT ALLOWED AND WILL BE PENALIZED.

Presentation requirements.

}A draw will be done to designate the topics for each group.

}Each group will be responsible for collecting information necessary to fill 6 minutes.

}All groups will prepare their presentations in class on Tuesday 20th ,Wednesday 21st , Thursday 22nd ,presenting in their copybooks the written result of the work done. Friday 23rd will be devoted to practice. This will have a score included in the rubric that will affect the final evaluation of the Presentation. Those days the students must bring printed material, books or any publications containing information, which can be in English or Spanish.

Working methodology

Day 1

}Groups are formed.

}The group is given, through a draw, the type of film to be presented.

}The group chooses a film to present.

Days 2 and 3.

}Each member brings information from home to prepare the presentation.

}The group prepares the presentation. Each member has all the information prepared in their copybooks.

Day 4

}The group finishes the preparation of the presentation, showing their copybooks to the teacher, who checks them.

}The group hands in the powerpoint presentation on a CD, without written information,  previously checked.

}The teacher checks the powerpoint presentation.

Day 5

}Groups rehearse their presentations, checking the time.

Presentation must include:

}Introduction: Each member introduces himself or herself.

}Type of Film:

     -   What it is about. (characteristics)

     - Examples of films of that type. (5 minimum, the titles of the movies IN ENGLISH).

}Movie:

     - Name of the movie (in English)

     - Characters/actors or actresses performing them.

     - Director.

     - Year.

     - Awards. (If it has any)

     - Plot.

     - Why did you chose it.

     - Trailer. (In English)

}Closing.


                              MINIMUM TIME: 6 MINUTES.
Evaluation

The following criteria is individual:

}Grammar

}Pronunciation

}Vocabulary

}Content delivery

}Covering of contents required.

The following criteria is groupal:

}Overall appreciation of the preparation of the presentation.

}Powerpoint presentation.

FRESHMAN CLASSES:"TALES OF MYSTERY AND IMAGINATION" DRAMATIZATIONS.


TOPIC:

A passage of one of the stories in the book “Tales of mystery and imagination”.

DATE:

Starting on Monday, October 22nd  on.

GROUPS:

 Students will work in groups (3 students per group)

LENGTH OF THE PRESENTATION:

5 minutes minimum.

MATERIAL:
Costumes and elements for stage design.

PRESENTATION REQUIREMENTS

The Passage of the story will be chosen by the students freely.

Each group will be responsible for preparing the script necessary to fill 5 minutes.

All groups will prepare their presentations in class on Monday 22nd, Tuesday 23rd , Wednesday 24th , Thursday 25th and Friday 26th .  presenting a written progress of the work done. This will have a grade that will affect the final evaluation of the Dramatization.

On Friday 26th Every group will rehearse their dialogues in front of the class.

On Monday 29th students start presenting their dialogues.
