Topic: Pre-colombian civilizations: Aztec-Maya-Inca.
Date: Starting on July 4th on.
Groups: Students will work in groups of 3 or 4 students. This will depend on the number of students that each class has.
Length of the presentation: 6 minutes minimum.
Powerpoint: Presented on a CD. Only images allowed. Deadline: July 1st .
The pre-colombian civilization will be assigned to each group through a draw.
Each group will be responsible for collecting information necessary to fill 6 minutes as a minimum. Groups presenting less of that time, will suffer a discount of points on the chart. (“content delivery” category)
All groups will prepare their presentations in classes on Wednesday 29th and Thursday 30th .
Friday 1st will be devoted to check the powerpoints and rehearse each presentation. All this process will be evaluated through a chart. This will have a score that will be included on the rubric of the Presentation. Those days the students must bring printed material, books or any publications containing information, which can be in English or Spanish.
PRESENTATION MUST INCLUDE:
Name of the Pre-colombian civilization.
Geographical location. (A map must be included)
Political organization. (emperors, kings, etc)
Economical activities.
Religious beliefs.
Militar organization.
Cultural importance.
Birth, heyday and decadence.
CRITERIA FOR EVALUATION:
Grammar
Pronunciation.
Vocabulary.
Content delivery.
Answer questions.
Overall appreciation of the preparation of the presentation.
