Vocabulary “The Oregon trail”
1. Trail: A path through the country.
2. Emigrate: To leave your own country to go and live in another.
3. Farmland: Land that is used for farming.
4. Mountain: A very high hill.
5. Gold: A precious yellow metal that is used for making coins, jewellery, etc.
6. Journey: To travel from one place to another, usually on land.
7. Western. Film about life in the past in the west of the USA.
8. Settler: A person who goes to live permanently in a place where not many
people live.
9. Wagon: A vehicle with four wheels, usually pulled by horses, used for
Transporting heavy objects.
10. Poor: Person who doesn’t have enough money to have a comfortable life.
11. Barefoot: Not wearing anything on your feet.
12. Wheels: Circular objects under a car, bicycle, etc.
